Two wins against Greifswald Baltic Mariners

On a stormy Saturday, the Diamonds 2 took on the Greifswald Baltic Mariners. The first game was delayed by 30 minutes due to the weather 🌧 When the game finally started, Christoph Konitzer took the mound for the diamonds. He pitched another gem, throwing a complete game and holding the potent offense of GBM to just 5 runs on 8 hits, striking out 4 and walking 2 over 5 strong innings. The offense provided enough to seal the win with a final score of 9 to 5 💎

In the second game, Leon Klitz, our 15 year old rookie, took the mound. He dominated the Greifswald Baltic Mariners – holding them to only 5 runs on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1 across five fantastic innings. A very proud moment for the coach.

He was backed with booming homeruns from Robin Hellwig and Frank Woisin, going back to back in the second inning 🚀 The defense played soundly, and our diamonds claimed victory with a score of 13 to 5 💎

Coach Scott Klitz said of the 2 game sweep:
„Our team is really playing as one unit. I’m proud of all of them. The hard work our pitchers put in weekly is really paying off. My pitching coach, David Möller really has done a terrific job developing the pitcher. Overall, awesome pitching, solid defense, and clutch hitting gave us the two wins today. Again, I’m very proud of all of them.

And as a father, I am especially proud of my son for his fantastic pitching performance.“
